Relationships, Sex and Health Education
From September 2020 Relationship, Sex and Health Education is compulsory. We teach some RSHE in subject specific sessions but much of the content will be covered during PSHE and Science lessons, where appropriate. As part of the RHSE programme Y5 and 6 pupils participate in the ‘Real Love Rocks’ programme. Real Love Rocks (primary edition) is a programme developed by Barnardos to promote healthy, consensual, safe relationships amongst children and young people. Addressing online safety, child sexual exploitation, grooming and risk taking, it focuses on the importance of feeling free, happy and safe in future relationships (for further details - see below). If you wish to discuss this, please contact Nicola Bardgett, Headteacher.
See details below of the RSHE curriculum which is taken from the Cambridge primary scheme, it details what is taught and when it is taught.
