What does GDPR stand for in schools?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European Union's new regulation on data and cyber-security. It's designed to strengthen data protection for everyone, and that includes children and their families.
The purpose of a school Data Protection Policy is to educate all staff on how to process personal information fairly and safely. The official school policy should provide practical guidance on how data can and cannot be handled, stored or published. All of this information must be regularly shared with employees.
