Football and Orienteering - Mr Davis runs football training all year for Y3 - Y6. The school has its own team which takes part in tournaments and competitions with other local schools. He also runs orienteering through the winter months.
Netball - Mrs Birkett runs the netball team and does weekly training with pupils from Y3 - Y6. They also take part in local tournaments and competitions.
Kwik Cricket - Mr Davis runs cricket training in the summer term for Y3 - Y6 pupils. We enter local tournaments and have an all girls team that enters the Eden Valley girls competition.
Running Club This year Sarah Golding is running a club for three half terms for pupils from Reception to Y6. Other parents and staff also help her to run it.
Tag Rugby - Mr Ellison runs Tag Rugby training through the Autumn and Winter terms for Y3 - Y6 pupils.
Choir - Mrs Bainbridge and Mrs Smith run a choir on Wednesday mornings for pupils from Y3 - Y6. For the last four out of six years the school choir have taken part in the Young Voices concert, performing at Manchester Arena.
"Pupils, staff and parents travelled to the Manchester Arena to participate in the Young Voices event involving 6,000 children. This supports pupils’ good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development." Ofsted February 2019
The choir also sing in the local community at Center Parcs, church services, community lunches and local care homes at Christmas.
Clarinet / Flute - Lessons are provided for Y3 to Y6s with Mrs Bainbridge.
Guitars - Lessons are available for KS 2
pupils during the week with Mrs Bainbridge. Scroll to the bottom to see a video of one of our Y6s playing.
Chess - Mr Davis runs a chess club throughout the year. The pupils take part in the Penrith and area league and the school host the Appleby Rotary competition each year in the spring term.
