The National Curriculum

The National Curriculum was initiated by the 1988 Education Reform Act. All pupils must be taught the "Core" and "Foundation"subjects for the recommended time. In addition Religious Education must now be taught and under the 1993 Education Act, all schools must make provision for any Special Education Needs (SEN) needs of children.
